Welcome to our new forum!

For all users who are accustomed to the old forum or are joining us for the first time, you probably have a few questions about your account, avatars, old forum names and signatures.

Please note that this FAQ is a work in progress, and we hope that with your help this document will grow over time. If you have any comments or questions about this document please post them here and we will integrate the best community tips.

How do I register on the PLAYSTATION Network?

To create a new account, Click here

You will see the following screen:



Click “I want to create a new account” and follow the instructions.

What do I do if I forget my password?

To recover your password:
Click here.
Enter your Sign-In ID (the email address you use to sign into PSN, PC Store and this forum), and your Date of Birth
Using the answer your provided during the registration of your account, answer the security question.
Enter your new password into the boxes provided and click Submit.

How do I change my avatar?

The icon that is displayed below your name next to your posts (also known as an avatar) is a way to give your posts a bit of personality. When you first log in, an icon will be assigned to you by default, but you can change it to something you find more suitable.

To select an avatar:
Click on My Profile.
Click on the Icons tab
Choose one of the several folders on the left-hand side of the page to browse through avatars via theme.
Select your new icon by clicking on it.

You can also set a custom avatar.
Upload your custom avatar to a web host that will allow you to hotlink your avatar. See the Hosting Guide below for more details on this.
Click on My Profile.
Click on the Icons tab.
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen. You will see Add A Custom Icon.
Paste the URL of your icon into the Personal Icon URL box.
Please note, the maximum size for your icon must be 100 x 100 pixels.

Remember, there should be no capital letters within the URL, otherwise your avatar will not be displayed.

How do I change my signature?

Your signature is text that appears at the bottom of each message you post on the message boards.
Sign up at the forum.
Click on the link My Profile.
Click on the tab Personal Profile.
In the tab Personal Profile type in the field Signature the text you want to use as your signature. You can use HTML code to include links to images in your customised signatures but these images must be hosted externally (please see the hosting guide below). The HTML for including an image will look something like <img src="Image URL">. Please keep your signature must be no larger than 540 x 120 pixels including all text and images.
Click on Save Changes.

Below you will find a list of various hosts that many people use. This is just a small list of the hosts available. If you do not find one that fits your needs, a simple search on google.co.uk will turn up many other options. Please be sure to verify that your host supports external linking. Many hosts do not allow images to be used on pages that are not on their server.

How do I create a topic?

To create a new thread, click this button at the top of most boards:

How do I reply to a topic?

Posting a message is of course very important. If this was not possible, it would not be a forum.

This how you can post or reply to a message:


Sign In to the forum.
View the topic to which you want to respond.
Click on this icon:
Write your message.
Click on "Submit Post."

How do I quote a message?

To quote from another message you must do the following:
Click on Reply icon of the message you want to quote:
Then click on the button 'Quote Message' button located on the right of your message book


It is no longer possible to multi-quote.

How do I edit / delete a message?

To edit or delete a posted message, click "Options" button:
Select 'Edit Message' to edit the message. Select "Remove message’ to delete.

How do I send a Private Message?

Private messenger allows you to send personal messages to other members of the forum. Private messenger has two major advantages over e-mail: You do not need the e-mail address of the other member to be able to send the message and nobody needs to know yours.


If you want to use private messenger, you must have an account and be logged in. If you are logged in, the Private Messenger link will appear on the top right-hand corner of your page. If you have any new private messages, then the link will appear next to a yellow envelope and the number of new messages in your inbox.


Clicking on the envelope will open your messages folder in a pop-up window.

Who/ what are Beta testers and MVP's?

Beta testers have the privilege of being invited to play some games before they are released. The reason for this is not only for enjoyment, but also so that the game is tested rigorously. A Beta tester is required to test each component of an online title and give their feedback to SCEE.


Information about becoming involved in the Beta test group is posted here. At present we are not recruiting for new Betas, but when we do this is where the information will be posted.

MVPs are our “Most Valued PlayStationers” – members of the PlayStation community who have helped make our world an enjoyable and interesting place to be by being friendly, helpful and a generally decent folk. MVPs are representative of the ethos and atmosphere of the PlayStation community, and are there to encourage good behaviour and a fun vibe. In addition to this, MVPs run the ever popular MVP Fun Nights which will be advertised in the Forums.

Can I get involved with all events and competitions?

On the forum there are regular competitions and events where everyone can join in!

We have a monthly list of all events created by the MVPs and Lestrade. These events are accessible to everyone and often there are prizes to win like games, artwork and PlayStation goodies
